The gym.

I'd probably take a nap!

How did your awesome business come to be?
I've always loved words, and one day I realized that I could actually get paid to do what I enjoyed. I was in grad school at the time, and really enjoyed the intense writing assignments that I had to do. I guess I wanted to keep that bookworm feeling going!
Who inspired you to pursue entrepreneurship?
A job from hell inspired me to create an environment for myself where I feel valued by those I choose to work with. My best friend Andrea made me believe I could do it, and just look at me now!

Have you ever had a mentor? If so, how did they help you?
I have the BEST mentor, and she's always there to help bounce ideas back and forth when I'm feeling stuck as far as growth goes.
How do you define success for yourself?
Smiling while I'm writing or creating strategies for clients is my kind of success. If I stop smiling, I'll know that this isn't for me. So far, my cheeks are still sore!
We all love failure & flop stories! Tell us about something you tried in business that didn't work, and how you moved beyond it.
I used to require consultations for any person I worked with in order to learn more about their needs. They often cut into my time, so I can only imagine how much time those clients had to sacrifice in order to speak with me about something that could have been obtained through a questionnaire. Now, I only require consultations for those purchasing my signature Brand Love Letter service. Since the service is a blend of content creation and coaching, it makes more sense that we would need to speak over the phone for it.
What is a recent success that you're super proud of accomplishing?
Creating a service guide to make purchasing services easier for anyone interested in working with KarmenCopy outside of the signature service.
What is your superpower?
Discernment is my superpower, for sure. That first hunch is usually right, so if I'm feeling off about something I've written I'll scrap it and start over. You'll never know it existed!
What is the least sexy part of your job?
Spreadsheets would probably be the least sexy part to others, but they really get me going!
What do you hope to learn from your community of peers inside the Hatch Tribe Members Circle?
I hope to learn more about how to work around my somewhat introverted personality to make even more connections when I'm out and about, and to be more graceful with myself for not always getting things right on the first try!
