What is your favorite part of being an entrepreneur?
I knew the life of an entrepreneur is difficult to say the least, but I knew that the benefits outweigh the hardships.  I love the ability to make my own schedule, that day to day will always be different and that I can carve my own schedule based on what my family has going on was all worth it.  Long story short, its the ability to put my family first.

What keeps you up at night?
Capital Raising and customer acquisition!

What ignited the spark in you to start your business?
I am a photographer by trade and my husband was a chef and when I began to go back to work, traveling for weddings internationally,  I was just not happy with the “convenient foods and snacks” for babies… I began importing Biodynamic and high level organic formulas and snacks from Europe to feed our son.  My husband is from Ireland and I did my master’s in Paris so I was very familiar with the EU standards for products, especially food products, in Europe. We both were dismayed that the snack options for babies and toddlers had a lot of ingredients that we knew were not necessary so we set forth to create these ultra pure and transparent products here in the US.   We wanted to create a line of products that we were passionate about and that are regeneratively farmed helping to heal the planet that our kids will inherit.

What personality trait are you most proud of?
My drive and determination

In one word characterize your life as an entrepreneur. #TallOrder
Persistence

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
If you keep doing what you are doing, you’ll keep getting what you are getting.

What sacrifices have you made to be a successful entrepreneur?
Financial security, a social life and sleep

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Listen to your intuition

Where do you find inspiration?
Successful people before me… I read a lot about people and businesses in this industry.

How do you handle fear?
Ignore it and push furiously ahead of it and only view your potential, desired outcome

What would you do with one extra hour in the day?
Enjoy play time with my son

What do you love to come home to?
My family

Name a women entrepreneur past or present you admire, and tell us why.
Sheryl O'Loughlin - she is amazing.  She has started and exited multiple businesses over the years and it seems that she puts family and her health first.

When did you know your purpose?
When other parents started asking me my opinion on what to feed their babies and families

What would you say are the top 3 skills needed to be a successful business owner?
Organization, Persistence and Passion

What book has inspired you the most?
Honestly, I have no time to read books… So I cannot answer this clearly, but I read snippets from books, magazines, trade pubs and online articles.  I read Conscious Consumer Magazine cover to cover, so that would be my best answer!

In your opinion, what does it take to be a great boss?
Discipline, an open mind and leadership skills

What lessons did you learn from your best & worst boss?
From my best boss, always give it your best, put in the time and you should reap the reward… not in earnings, but in satisfaction of a job well done.
From my worst boss, I learned to not assume people know what you mean, ensure that they do when you speak to them with direction.  Have them clarify what you just said so that everyone is on the same page.

When you’re not working, what is your favorite way to spend your free time?
I’m usually working!  But hanging with friends and eating out with my family are my top…
