Are you an Early Bird or a Night Owl?

Early Bird for sure! When I'm in my flow, my favorite time to be awake is between 4-6am. The sun isn't up yet and the whole Earth is so calm and serene. It allows this hyper bunny to really soak in some guilt-free receiving.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

Get the coffee brewing, grab my journal, and meditate. After sitting, I like to journal for 10-30 minutes with my morning coffee and allow myself to find a state of appreciation for all of the opportunities, feels, and circumstances. These are my two non negotiable morning rituals.

What are you reading now?

I'm a "read-five-books-simultaneously" kinda person. I've been that way since I learned to read. The book that I’m currently digging the most is Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. So inspiring!

What's your favorite podcast or YouTube channel?

The Rich Roll Podcast & Supersoul Conversations are my all time favorite podcasts.

Favorite place to getaway from it all?

The mountains! I grew up about an hour from the start of the Appalachian Trail and grew up getting lost in the woods every weekend with my family. My all time favorite combo is setting up a hammock at the peak of a hike and getting lost in a book for a few hours before trekking back down.

Fun fact: My husband and I are actually in the beginning stages of training for the Seven Summits-- the tallest mountains on every continent! It's been a lifelong dream of mine and we couldn't be more excited!

If you could get an extra hour today, how would you use it?

I'd hit the beach for some surfing. Since mountains don't exist in Charleston, I've begun a love affair with the ocean!

Do you consider yourself more of an Introvert or extrovert?

I tend towards introvert but a people and conversation lover when I'm out of my cave ;)

What's your favorite food?

GUACAMOLE!

I'm on a mission to...

Live full blast and build my life resume, as Jesse Itzler put it! I feel the most inspired and alive when I push myself past my boundaries into uncharted territories whether that's in travel, athletic pursuits, business, or on the mat.

How did your awesome business come to be?

After a decade or so of my own personal practice and many years abroad doing humanitarian work, I went through teacher training and it all evolved from there.

Who inspired you to pursue entrepreneurship?

Elli Richter, a local coach and yoga teacher who I have abounding love and respect for. She really gave me the courage and support to take my business to the next level over the last year.

Have you ever had a mentor? And how did they help you?

Elli is probably the mentor that most radically changed my life by helping me clear out some old programming and put my energy into the places that are aligned with my core values, purpose, and dreams. She is an incredible human and working with her totally changed my life!

How do you define success for yourself?

I evaluate myself by the extent that I am enjoying peace, love, and health. When it comes to goals, I think success is really just taking the leap. Even if the end result doesn't look like I thought it would, every circumstance is an opportunity and I'm genuinely proud of myself whenever I just do the damn thing.

What is a recent success that you're super proud of accomplishing?

About to go live with a really exciting retreat. Travel is one of my greatest loves and combining my business with seeing the world is pretty much as good as it gets for me!

What is your superpower?

My fire, when in check. ;) I have so much compassion, energy, excitement for what I do, and love for life. I know that the more on fire I feel, the more it palpably seeps into what I'm showing up with and helps turn people onto themselves and the lives they are creating, too.

What is the least sexy part of your job?

My job truly requires that I really do the work that I ask of my students and clients myself or my work is disingenuous and void of authenticity. This daily practice of choosing to sitting with ourselves, being honest about all aspects of who we are, including the shadows, is not sexy. Sometimes it's just really hard to stay inspired and not burn out as both a student and teacher of my trade. Other times, my work with my own coaches and teachers is messy filled with a lot of resistance, anger, tears... all the things. However, I am falling in love with the contrast because it teaches me as much, if not more, than the parts of this work that are pretty, posed, and easily digestible. Wellness is a journey and it comes in waves. I am just learning to ride them a little better and remain unattached along the way.

What do you hope to learn from this community of your peers (ie. Hatch Tribe Members Circle)?

When I first found this group, I was immediately in love and so inspired by how much collaboration and so little competition was present in a tribe full of badass alpha females getting shit done and following their dreams. I was also so relieved to feel like I wasn’t doing this all alone and was surrounded by people who understood both the high's and low's of creative living.

This tribe, both virtually in the Member's Circle and at live events, has helped me learn more and more how to step into my power and voice as an entrepreneur. I think this process is ongoing. The support, monthly themes, guest speakers, and networking has been really transformative and have equipped me with some really useful tools to "Survive the Start-up," as Hilary so brilliantly named it. I really believe that as women it's time to RISE and I couldn't be more grateful for this incredible gift of rising together. I really couldn't love y'all more!
