Staying Sane(ish): Tools for Tough Times

If you’re feeling emotional distress right now, you are not alone.

My anxiety cranked into high gear during the past few days. And I don’t say that lightly. I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety since my early twenties. Throughout my life I have gone to therapy, taken medication, journaled, meditated, and tried countless other interventions to support my wellbeing.

I’m sharing this because if you’re battling any emotional or mental stressors right now, you need to know it’s not just you. And secondarily, the stigma around mental “illness” is bullshit. We treat every other physical area of the body with reverence, and yet somehow we keep downplaying the need to care for our brains.

On a “normal day” business owners are affected by higher rates of depression and anxiety than the average population. Add in the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s no wonder many of us are feeling unnerved.

That’s why today we’re sharing Mental + Emotional Wellbeing resources that may be of help during this challenging time.
